Government Shutdown FAQ

Will the federal government shutdown affect banking services and how I can access my account?

Is my money safe at Miami Savings Bank?

Yes. Your deposits are fully protected by FDIC insurance, which is not affected by a shutdown. No depositor has ever lost a penny of insured funds.

Will I still be able to access my accounts?

Absolutely. All Miami Savings Bank’s branches, ATMs, and online banking services remain fully operational throughout the shutdown.  Wire transfer services are also still available.

What happens if my federal paycheck or benefit is delayed?

Contact us right away. We may be able to help with fee waivers, payment extensions, or other accommodations until normal operations resume.

Will mortgage or small business loans still be processed?

Yes, we are still processing loan applications as normal and do not expect any delays to close your loan. We will keep you updated and work with you to minimize delays.

What if my loan requires flood insurance through NFIP?

Loans can still close, but NFIP claim payments could be delayed if the program lapses. Private flood insurance may also be an option.
